1. Do you repair jewellery?

2. How do I clean my jewellery and keep the diamonds sparkling?
A: There are some good quality Jewellery cleaning liquids, but if you don’t have any, you can use some warm water, washing up detergent and an old toothbrush, then rinse.
3. Is 18ct gold better than 9ct gold?
A:
Yes, 18ct yellow gold is better than 9ct gold because it has a greater amount of gold content, which assists in its wearabiliy and longevity.
4. What’s the difference between a cast ring and a handmade ring?
A:
A hand made ring is generally forged out of a bar of gold and if any modifications are needed during the process, they can be dealt with at that time. Your ring will be unique. When a ring is to be cast, a CAD drawing is done and a mould is then made. Metal is poured into the mould, which then hardens. Many rings of the same style are able to be made at the same time and all will be identical.
5. Are handmade rings more expensive?

Hand made rings can be a little more expensive because of the time and effort needed to make it by hand, but it will be unique.

Yes, at Saunders Manufacturing Jewellers you are able to use your old gold and stones, depending on their suitability, in making a new piece of jewellery.
10. What’s the difference between white gold and platinum?
A:
White gold has other metals included in it to make its colour and characteristics. A white gold ring needs to be Rhodium Plated to give it its best white colour . To keep it looking its best , Rhodium Plating should be done every 1-2 years. Platinum is a white metal and unlike gold it is used in jewellery in almost its pure form. Platinum is a very dense metal, so will feel heavier than an 18ct gold ring.
